Circular economy in our everyday life

Project studioKroG plays an important role in addressing the challenges posed by the lack of understanding of the possibility of circular resource use. The existing practice will be surpassed with a comprehensive approach of re-use and design of waste and industrial symbiosis in the case of used shipping containers with functionally and thematically equipped rooms according to the principle "reduce, repair, design and reuse" = studio of circular economy.

Despite the fact that the circular economy is a priority direction in Slovenia, preference is still given to new buildings and new equipment, as the existing legislation does not include a circular approach to the use of resources. At the same time, the project will demonstrate how the close connection between economic growth and the use of resources is broken through the reuse, repair and design of waste. Likewise, the circular economy in Slovenia will be upgraded through the exchange of good practice from Norway.

Target groups of the project

The proposed investment demonstrates innovative ways of cooperation between various stakeholders (public/private, soc. entrepreneurship, public companies, educational institutions, general public etc.) at the local/national level, enabling circular business models transforms waste into functional materials and products, where virgin materials will not be used.
The project is designed in as a demo, where the target groups will follow the transformation of waste for the purpose of functional use and synergistic effects at the level of workshops, demonstration, educations, trainings, videos, photo galleries, etc.

With the project, we open new opportunities for many target groups: local communities, architects and designers, construction companies and other SMEs, organizations in the field of waste management and circular use of resources, educational institutions, NGOs, etc. in the field of circular behaviour in practice as for decision-makers at the national level of the system regulation of the circular approach of resource use.
