Peer-review
COMMUNITY ACTIVATION FOR IMPLEMENTING CIRCULAR ECONOMY PRINCIPLES IN SLOVENIA
WHEN: Friday, 25th of November 2022, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m |
The aim of the expert meeting
The peer-review event is organized to mobilize communities to implement the principles of the circular economy. In order to increase understanding and interest in circular resource use, the expert meeting will discuss an action plan that focuses even more on waste prevention, circular design, product life cycle, and the implementation of a circular economy approach, using the example of the re-use of discarded shipping containers for educational, business, tourism, and other purposes. They will be given new content to understand the principles of the circular economy in everyday life. New Action Plan is one of the main building blocks of the European Green Deal, which sets out an ambitious roadmap for a carbon-neutral, resource-efficient, and circular economy, decoupling economic growth from growth in resource use. This will bring the circular economy into all areas of European planning, and its implementation in Slovenia is therefore essential. In order to establish a partnership between public and private stakeholders in the context of increasing the potential of circular resource use, an informal agreement will be signed at the end of the project to ensure sustainability and to continue cooperation as a community after the end of the project with identified common development challenges for the expansion of the circular economy in Slovenia.
