Circular resource use in practice - mobile facility in Rogaška Slatina

20230306 064103

A mobile facility (approx. 100 m2) transforms waste from used shipping containers into re-use resources, i.e. preparing for the installation of used/rejected building furniture (windows, doors) according to the principle of re-use and industrial symbiosis (location Rogaška Slatina, Tuncovec - CPU and OKP).

Did you know?

Circular economy means moving from a linear model of resource consumption, where raw materials are used to produce products and are discarded (as waste) or destroyed after use, to a circular model, where raw materials/equipment are kept in use for as long as possible.

Why?

  • To protect natural resources ...
  • To reduce the consumption of virgin materials ...
  • To reduce GHG emissions ...
  • To mitigate climate change ...
  • To increase the social responsibility of all of us ... despite technological progress and development, we are failing to reduce our environmental footprint!

And why?

  • Last year, Slovenia reached its Ecological Debt Day on 18 April, which means that by that date we have used up all the resources and ecosystem services that the Earth can replenish in one year.
  • This means that in less than four months, Slovenians have consumed as many natural resources as the Earth can provide in a year.
  • This means that we have been living in ecological debt for more than eight months.
  • If everyone in the world lived like Slovenians, we would need 3.4 planet Earths.
